Supply Chain AccountantJob SummaryThis rolewill primarily support various Accounting and Financial Reportingactivities, with an emphasis on Kontoor’s Supply Chain. Keyresponsibilities of this role will include ensuring that outboundfreight, royalty-related costing and reporting, and other varioussupply chain-focused activities are reported accurately. Thisindividual will assist in additional accounting tasks including butnot limited to preparing account reconciliations and other ad-hocrequests.
Responsibilities Responsible for certain freight, royalty-related and othermiscellaneous accounting processes which include journal entries,balance sheet reconciliations, and required accounting andreporting for month end close, as directed. Liaise routinely with Kontoor’s Logistics function tounderstand key business activities and other initiatives thatimpact financial reporting. Track outbound freight-related activities on an ongoing basisand raise concerns, should they arise, with accounting managers ina timely manner. Accurately calculate and record the outbound freight accrualsmonthly. Liaise with Kontoor’s Licensing functions routinely to identifynew and/or amended licensing agreements and coordinate with the KTBGlobal Costing team to ensure that related product costing iscomplete and accurate. Regularly monitor and account for ongoing SC initiatives toreduce product costs (i.e., Mill to Maker freight program). Coordinate with KTB’s Hong Kong team to obtain support tocalculate and record various journal entries including but notlimited to overhead, samples, and factory audit charges. Perform various activities such as updating Accounting SOP’s,bi-annual Balance Sheet Review preparation, etc.
Leadership While this role does not have any direct reports, leadershipskills required for the position include i) participation andopportunities to lead meetings on supply chain accounting topics(freight, royalty/licensing, etc.) and presenting recommendationsto Accounting leadership ii) obtain relevant information from othergroups that supplement our financial reporting, such as Logistics,Supply Chain Finance, and DC personnel, and proactively follow upas necessary, and iii) effectively explain and present journalentry calculations to Senior Manager, NAM Controller and CAO on aroutine basis.
Requirements Must possess a college degree in Accounting (CPA or similardesignation preferred but not required) Must have moderate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e.,ability to structure and analyze larger data sets and writeformulas; experience with tools such as PowerBI, Alteryx, etc. notrequired but desirable) Should possess 1-3 years of experience in accounting withexposure to Supply Chain-related topics (Freight, Inventory,Distribution, Standard Costing, etc.) Must be motivated, coachable and have a positive attitude,while consistently adhering to financial reporting deadlines.
