Job Description
Description We are conducting a direct hire search on behalf of a global manufacturing client for an experienced Sr. Financial Accountant based in Mills River, NC. This is a hands-on role reporting to the Head of Finance, with a focus on full-cycle accounting, SAP-based reporting, and fixed asset management within a plant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Receivable + Monitor and process supplier and customer invoices in SAP + Manage payments, open item resolution, and customer credit reviews + Oversee accurate application of payments and ensure timely collections Monthly, Quarterly & Year-End Reporting + Prepare and post journal entries + Complete balance sheet reconciliations and financial variance analysis + Contribute to group reporting via COGNOS and Liquidity database + Monitor bank activity and prepare related entries + Assist in preparing annual financial statements and audit schedules Fixed Asset Accounting + Maintain fixed asset records in SAP + Process asset additions, disposals, and perform periodic audits + Ensure proper valuation and compliance for all capital expenditures Additional Duties + Support internal controls, process improvements, and ad hoc reporting as assigned
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent experience) + Minimum of 4 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment + Proficiency with SAP is required; COGNOS and Concur experience are a plus + Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with integrated financial systems + Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach Requirements
- Proven experience in account reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of balance sheet and bank reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency in maintaining and managing general ledger activities.
- Expertise in preparing journal entries and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas.
- Experience with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
