Description We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Rochester, New York. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an opportunity to manage essential financial operations within a non-profit organization. The role involves maintaining accurate records, handling accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with established accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
• Prepare financial reports and statements to provide insights into the organization’s financial status.
• Record and manage journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
• Perform reconciliations to verify the accuracy of accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in all financial practices.
• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts by gathering and analyzing financial data.
• Conduct regular reviews of financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Provide support during audits by organizing and presenting financial documentation. Requirements
• Proven experience in accounts payable and receivable management.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entries.
• Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial reports.
• Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes and ensuring financial accuracy.
• Solid understanding of GAAP principles and compliance requirements.
• Ability to perform double-entry bookkeeping accurately.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
