Job Description

Our Client is a is a dynamic and growing real estate firm specializing in property management located on the West side of Uptown. Our client is quickly seeking a Sr Accountant to bring to the team. There is a work from home option after training of approximately 6 months, of 1-2 days a week based off performance, however talent must reside in the Charlotte metro. Timberline experience is a bonus. Medical, Dental, Vision, and PTO benefits start after 30 days of employment. PTO includes 15 days and 9 days of holiday prorated on start date. 401K included.

BachelorsResponsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis:

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for various real estate entities (e.g., partnerships, LLCs, corporations), ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies. Conduct in-depth financial analysis of real estate projects, including variance analysis, budget vs. actuals, and cash flow projections. Assist in the preparation of investor reports and presentations.

Real Estate Specific Accounting:

Manage the accounting for real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures, including proper capitalization of costs and recognition of gains/losses. Oversee the tracking and capitalization of development and construction costs, ensuring accurate project costing. Perform complex reconciliations related to real estate transactions, property taxes, insurance, and CAM (Common Area Maintenance) charges. Account for lease agreements (ASC 842), including right-of-use assets and lease liabilities. Manage depreciation and amortization schedules for real estate assets.

General Ledger Management:

Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions. Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and reclassifications. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for various accounts
