Segra is searching for a dynamic and experienced CapitalProjects and Fixed Asset Accountant to work within our Kansas City,MO market. Based on the manager’s evaluation of candidateexperience and competency, we are open to hiring for this role atvarious levels. The Capital Projects and Fixed Asset Accountant will be responsiblefor: Overseeing the accounting and financial management of capitalprojects as well as managing the lifecycle of fixedassets. Manage the tracking and accounting for capital projects,ensuring that costs are properly allocated and capitalized inaccordance with company policies and industry standards Ensure that all capital projects costs, including labor,materials and overheads are correctly captured andcapitalized Monitor and track construction in progress (CIP/WIP) accountingensuring accurate reporting and timely transfer of capitalizedcosts to fixed assets once projects are completed Oversee the capitalization of fixed assets acquired throughcapital projects Maintain and update the fixed asset register with accurateinformation on asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers andadjustments. Calculate and ensure the accurate recording ofdepreciation Prepare reconciliation of the fixed asset ledger, ensuring alltransactions are recorded and accurately reflected and properlyclassified Generate and provide fixed assets reports including assetadditions, disposals and impairment. Oversee the process of asset disposals, ensuring assets areproperly returned and that any retirement proceeds are accuratelyrecorded Collaborate with operations, project management, engineeringand construction teams to understand project progress and ensureproper capitalization of assets.

Additional Preferred Skills:

4 years of capital project accounting and fixed asset management,with a preference for experience in the telecommunicationsindustry. Strong knowledge of capital expenditure accounting, assetcapitalization and deprecation Ability to analyze large volumes of financial data Attention to detail, organization skills and time management Experience with telecommunications infrastructure, networkequipment and related assets Understanding of telecom industry project lifecycle

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred. A Bachelor’sdegree in finance or similar concentration is acceptable.i A CPA is a plus but not required.
