POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
FINANCIAL
OVERSIGHT
Manage and monitor project budgets, costs, and expenditures. Prepare projectspecific financial reports and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders. Track contract values, change orders, and billing schedules to ensure accurate reporting.
BILLING AND ACCOUNTS MANAGEMENT
Generate and process progress billings, including AIA documentation. Collaborate with project managers to prepare and submit payment applications to clients. Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable related to project expenses.
COMPLIANCE AND DOCUMENTATION
Ensure compliance with contractual agreements, including lien waivers and retention policies. Maintain accurate and organized financial records for each project. Assist in audits and provide supporting documentation as required.
COLLABORATION
Act as a liaison between the accounting department and project management teams. Partner with subcontractors and vendors to resolve payment and billing issues. Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems and processes for project accounting. Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred). 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction or general contracting industry. Proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 100, Procore, Viewpoint, or similar). Strong knowledge of AIA billing, change orders, and lien waivers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Highly proficient with accounting software. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
