Sales Tax Accountant Position Available In Mecklenburg, North Carolina

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Sales Tax Accountant to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in ensuring compliance with state and local sales tax regulations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team while honing your expertise in tax preparation and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file sales tax returns across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Research and interpret state and local tax regulations to maintain compliance.
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary data for tax filings.
• Identify discrepancies in tax filings and implement corrective measures.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and update processes accordingly.
• Assist with audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation related to sales tax filings.
• Provide guidance and support on sales tax matters to other team members. Requirements
• Proven experience in preparing and filing sales tax returns.
• Strong knowledge of state and local sales tax regulations.
• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
