We are seeking a highly skilled Loan Accountant to manage wholesale and retail loan processing, accounting support, and account reconciliation. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to perform complex accounting functions. The candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and reconciliation for our client.

Responsibilities:

Processes and reconciles daily cash settlements for clients off-loan accounting and GL systems. Reconciles clients cash clearing accounts ADBs and ensures they remain within threshold. Makes adjustments to ensure accurate interest expense calculation on wholesale loans. Creates wholesale loan records and inputs maintenance on commitment details in the loan accounting system. Calculates MCD rate for wholesale loans and updates the system accordingly. Notifies stakeholders of changes to wholesale notes as needed. Processes wholesale and retail fees. Creates customer records and commitment details, if applicable. Sets up loans according to requirements from the loan officer and requests additional information as necessary. Creates rate locks utilizing FPS and/or provides rate quotes. Analyzes and processes monetary and maintenance transactions in accordance with contract parameters. Researches discrepancies and determines appropriate resolutions. Prepares and analyzes a variety of weekly and monthly loan accounting reports. Performs asset pool-related accounting functions, including loan setups, workbook modifications, daily entries, maintenance, and reporting. Administers reconciliation system, if applicable. Assists team members on Bank balancing system. Monitors and reconciles assigned accounts on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis. Identifies, researches, and resolves reconciling items, escalating items to achieve resolution. Contacts clients or other departments to gather information to resolve issues. Prepares and submits journal entries to correct items discovered during reconciling duties. Provides guidance to team members on cash account reconciliation. Performs weekly reconciliation of wholesale loan disbursement issues with our client and clients, follows up on outstanding issues to ensure timely and accurate resolution, and compiles and distributes quarterly outstanding check registers to clients. Performs significant and/or complex accounting processes for our client and associations. Participates in training for new/promoted team members and new/revised processes. Coordinates requests from departments, auditors, and other third parties. Reviews requested deliverables from departments, auditors, and other third parties. Prepares and submits requested information to departments, auditors, and other third parties.

Qualifications:

4+ years of Loan Accounting experience (loan participation, loan setup, loan maintenance, loan accounting). Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields. 4+ years of Advanced Excel skills. Experience with large ERPs/reporting tools. 1+ years of Cornerstone ERP experience. 3+ years of Farm Credit industry experience. 1+ year of DNA ERP experience. 1+ year of SQL experience. 1+ year of OneStream experience.

Work Environment:

The work environment is flexible with the ability to work 100% remotely. The role requires quarterly travel to the St. Paul office, with all travel and hotel expenses paid for.
