Job Description
Description We are offering a contract for a permanent employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Charlotte, North Carolina. The role is within the construction accounting industry, where the Sr. Accountant will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliations and more.
Responsibilities:
- Performing account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
- Conducting balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations to safeguard the company’s financial integrity
- Processing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy of posted entries
- Assisting with the preparation and filing of multi-state tax returns
- Tracking and posting of fixed assets
- Leading special projects as required, such as equipment loan analysis and audit support
- Managing intercompany transactions and postings for comprehensive financial reporting
- Administering tasks related to cash applications, such as posting cash receipts, transfers, and payments
- Conducting regular analysis of postings in the general ledger for any discrepancies or errors Requirements
- Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is necessary
- Ability to handle Balance Sheet Reconciliation is required
- Must be skilled in performing Bank Reconciliations
- Proficiency in managing General Ledger is necessary
- Capability to handle Journal Entries is required
- Must be proficient in using Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage Month End Close processes is necessary
- Experience in preparing Multi-state Tax Returns is necessary
- Knowledge in Utilities sector would be beneficial
