Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining financial records, assisting with month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. This role requires a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced private company environment.

Responsibilities:

Process all accounts payable transactions. Maintain and reconcile bank and credit reconciliations. Prepare and post journal entries and accruals and complete all balance sheet reconciliations. Reconcile, review, and post all payroll journal entries. Provide support to the A/R Team. Process and reconcile all month end A/R journal entry activity. Assist in the preparation of internal financial statement reporting. Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies. Assist with annual internal audits. Contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 1-3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role; private company experience preferred. Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage) a plus. High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Preferred Skills Pest Control or Service Industry experience is a plus. Experience working with a Private Equity Firm. Understanding of the full accounting cycle and financial statement reporting and analysis. Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting.
