How This Role impacts Live Oak and its People This position will be responsible for supporting Accounting Managers in external and internal financial reporting requirements of Live Oak Banking Company, its affiliate companies, and parent company. Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, preparation of underlying financial statements and disclosures, for SEC, regulatory, and board reporting. What You’ll Do at Live Oak Assist with the Company’s SEC reporting processes, including preparation of 8-Ks, 10-Qs, and 10-Ks. Assist in the preparation of SEC and regulatory reports. Assist with month, quarter, and year-end closing process. Perform and preserve account and report maintenance in the general ledger system. Upload and maintain the accounting platform interface for account reconciliations and month-end tasks. Promote change while helping enhance efficient and effective financial reporting processes. Support and maintain internal control over financial reporting process. Engage in and/or oversee special projects as required. How You’ll Do It Prepare financial schedules/workpapers that support financial statement and disclosure requirements for SEC, regulatory, and internal financial reporting. Interact with members of the Accounting team and other departments at the Bank to support the creation of financial reports and/or disclosures. Maintain proper documentation as required for record retention purposes. Function as a team and understand all members of the team are vital to our collective success. Required and Preferred Experience Proactive in project planning and execution, able to meet precise deadlines and deliver a quality product. Must have a positive attitude and promote a culture of collaboration and teamwork. Must be organized, detail-oriented and have excellent written and verbal communication skills with various levels of management. Must be a self-starter, a team player, flexible and able to work on several projects simultaneously. Strong analytical, problem-solving, time management and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. Basic knowledge of financial institution operations. Minimum of 1 year of work-related experience in financial reporting or auditing, preferred.
