Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to join our client’s team. This role will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), journal entries, and full month-end close for two entities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with bookkeeping, QuickBooks, and ERP systems, and a solid understanding of general accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities for two entities Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable , including invoice processing, payments, collections, and reconciliations Prepare and post journal entries with proper documentation and accuracy Support the month-end close process , including account reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting for two entities Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations Maintain organized financial records and ensure data integrity across systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve billing and expense discrepancies Assist with internal and external audits as needed Contribute to process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting function

Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 2+ years of hands-on accounting experience, including AP, AR, journal entries, and month-end close Working knowledge of QuickBooks and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
