How you will make an impact: Production Chemicals and Services, part of the Biologics and Chemicals Division, meets customers’ bioproduction needs through sourcing and supply chain services. Join Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Accounting team for global financial accuracy and compliance. Seeking a proficient finance team member who will provide finance, accounting and compliance to the Production Chemicals and Services business. The successful candidate will implement accounting, controls and compliance procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. In addition, the position holder will identify and recommend operational improvement opportunities and support leadership in achieving of business objectives.
What you will do:
Perform monthly closing activities including journal entries, accruals, reporting and analysis on a timely basis Manage fixed assets, inventory and other critical areas of accounting Prepare account reconciliations and take ownership of investigating and clearing reconciling items Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policy, approval authority matrix and standard operating procedure; recommends changes to strengthen control environment Carry out sophisticated accounting treatment and prepares financial documents and supplementary reporting Support internal and external audit requirements Exercise sound data stewardship – following data policies (retention, privacy, security) and detailing procedures Drive continuous improvement and uses systems to increase controls and efficiencies Ensure effective data security and controls within ERP, financial systems, and data flows Other ad-hoc projects/requests as required How you will get here:
Education Required:
An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in
Business, Finance, or Accounting Desired:
A CPA Experience Minimum of 2-5 years of finance and accounting experience Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Excellent understanding of financial accounting standards and internal controls Proficient user of Excel; experience with Infor A+ ERP (or equivalent), PowerPoint, and Hyperion is desired Proficient verbal and written communication skills Challenges the status quo; introduces and proactively seeks out new insights and solutions to strengthen our performance
