Job Description
The Accounting Associate will be a key player of the finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a high-level of attention to detail, curiosity, initiative, and a results-oriented mind-set. The individual in this position will be responsible for accounts payable and expense reports, and various period-end close tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Receive and review invoices, ensuring they are coded correctly and approved in a timely manner. Ensure proper expense cut at month-end including completeness of accounts payable accrual. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable ledgers. Ensure that payments are posted to vendor accounts accurately and timely. Reconciles and submits annual 1099s per IRS deadlines. Assist in period end closings. Assist and provide documentation for annual external audit. Respond to inquiries regarding payments and discrepancies while maintaining positive relationships. Assist with the processing of expense reports, ensuring they are properly documented and approved. Effectively manage time in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. Knowledge of accounting principles and (GAAP). Strong attention to detail. Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in a timely manner. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to handle confidential situations professionally. Ability to work independently and in a team environment across functional areas. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially leveraging Excel. Experience with NetSuite and Concur preferred.
