Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Corporate Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the financial health of our company. Your responsibilities will encompass a broad range of accounting tasks, ensuring adherence to financial regulations, and contributing to informed decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Month-End:
Lead the month end close process for Procom’s US entities, completing monthly reconciliations and processing journal entries.
Compliance:
Lead the monthly and quarterly sales tax filings. Support the annual filing of W2s and 1099s. Lead/support other federal, state and municipal filings as required.
Audit Support:
Assist with the collection of financial statements, sales tax information, customer or other government audit requests, as needed.
Financial Statement Preparation:
Review monthly and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement) in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and proactively bring forward questions, comments and suggestions.
Account Reconciliation:
Reconcile various accounts (e.g., bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, sales, and cost of sales) on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
General Ledger Maintenance:
Maintain the general ledger by recording financial transactions, classifying accounts, and ensuring data integrity. Work with accounts payable to ensure transactions are properly coded in NetSuite and provide allocations for benefits and other transactions to accounts payable to process bill payments.
Internal Controls:
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard financial assets and mitigate risks. Adherence to
Regulations:
Stay updated on relevant accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the company adheres to all compliance requirements.
Other:
Act as a subject matter expert to process and resolve rebate requests and other ad-hoc finance requests as needed, such as sales tax questions, etc.
Office Support:
Responsible for the office mail. Deposit live cheques in a timely basis. Forward mail to other individuals/locations as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance or related field CPA certification preferred Minimum 5+ years of experience in a corporate accounting role. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Oracle NetSuite). Highly proficient in MS Excel. Advanced knowledge with PIVOT tables, filtering data, use of mathematical functions Experience working with State and Local level taxes Strong understanding of National, State and Local Tax Codes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail and deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Keeps up to date with new financial regulations, relevant State and Federal legislation, and accepted practices Proven ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision. Demonstrates a proactive approach to driving work forward to completion.
