Job Description

Fund Accountant Our client is looking for a highly organized and analytical Fund Accountant to support the financial operations of investment funds. This individual will be responsible for performing daily and periodic accounting functions, including the calculation of net asset values (NAVs), reconciliation of fund activity, and preparation of financial reports. This position will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of fund data while supporting compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of investment accounting, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Responsibilities Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly NAV (Net Asset Value) calculations for assigned funds Reconcile cash, portfolio positions, and transactions with custodians and counterparties Book journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts for investment funds Assist in preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, or other applicable standards Support external audits by preparing audit schedules and responding to inquiries Monitor fund expenses, accruals, and allocations Assist with investor reporting and capital account maintenance Collaborate with operations, compliance, and portfolio teams to ensure data accuracy and timely reporting Participate in process improvement initiatives and system enhancements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 1-3 years of fund accounting or related experience (public accounting or financial services a plus) Solid understanding of investment products, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and private equity Proficiency with accounting software and Excel; experience with systems like Investran, Geneva, or Advent is a plus Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and time management skills.
