Job Description

Inventory Accountant We are partnering with a medical consulting firm seeking an analytical Inventory Accountant to join their finance team. This role is responsible for managing and reconciling inventory transactions, analyzing financial data, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting operational efficiency across multiple lab locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory accounting and a solid understanding of GAAP.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts across multiple lab locations and warehouses. Monitor inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and disposals. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory reconciliations and variance analyses. Ensure all inventory-related accounting practices are in full compliance with GAAP. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization. Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory tracking and reporting. Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control procedures and policies. Prepare journal entries and support month-end and year-end close processes. Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to inventory. Utilize ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) for inventory management and reporting.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification strongly preferred. 3+ years of experience in inventory accounting, preferably in a healthcare, pharmaceutical, or laboratory environment. Strong understanding and practical application of GAAP, especially as it relates to inventory valuation and cost accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
