Overview:

Job Description Affordable Care is seeking a Junior Accountant reporting to the Director of Operational Accounting. The Junior Accountant is responsible for various accounting activities, including closing the books, financial reporting, financial analysis, and account reconciliations.

Requires collaboration with different departments such as Accounts Payable, Marketing, and Operations to ensure accurate financial management and reporting across the organization. Demonstrate a strong work ethic, high sense of urgency, ability to roll up their sleeves, and the passionate desire to drive results. Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision. Must be an efficient Microsoft user (focus on excel)

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities Monitor and reconcile transactions related to procurement cards, and utility and tax payments. Assist in managing medical professional allowances and doctor’s notes payable accounts. Allocate overhead costs and manage laboratory billing to ensure accurate cost distribution and recovery. Perform month-end accounting close activities including financial analysis, journal entries, and accruals. Perform various entry-level reconciliations to ensure that all financial records are accurate and up to date. Assist in maintaining and updating workflows in Alteryx to streamline data processing and reporting tasks. Serve as a liaison to facilitate effective communication and ensure seamless financial operations between departments. Maintains continuous improvement and team mindset. Maintains internal controls and compliance with company policies and with GAAP Assumes additional responsibilities and assists with special projects as needed or directed.

Qualifications:

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent in related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting Minimum 1-2 years general ledger accounting experience performing monthly close duties and objectives. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across various departments. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Working knowledge of MS Excel is required (pivots, v-lookups, and other formulas). Experience with accounting software and programs, Great Plains and Alteryx experience desirable.
