Job Description

Senior Accountant Job Overview/Summary:

Our client is in search of an experienced and detail oriented Senior Accountant. This is a new position within the organization and will be responsible managing financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, ensuring accurate financial records, supporting audit processes, adhering to accounting standards and regulations, and for capitalization software accounting.

Responsibiliies:

Maintaining and reconciling the general ledger, including balance sheet and income statement accounts Preparing and posting journal entries for various transactions, including accruals, deferrals, and adjusting entries Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records including performing various analytics Managing the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing closing journal entries and reconciliations Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting Assisting with audit preparations, including gathering documentation and responding to auditor requests Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations Software development capitalization tracking, recording and reconciliation according to company policy Partner with other business units to provide support on software capitalization Develop and maintain process documentation around capitalization Partner with finance to understand software capitalization budgeting and forecasting Prepare month end close journal entries and reconciliations Perform monthly analysis of impairment triggers Assist in the annual capitalized software impairment analysis Provide ad-hoc analysis as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Accounting Active CPA license, or equivalent, preferred 3-5 years of experience, public accounting or public company experience preferable Software company experience required Capitalized software development accounting experience, preferred Knowledge of and experience in applying US GAAP Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail Intermediate Excel skills Experience with financial systems, such as Oracle or Workday Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
