Senior Financial Reporting Accountant On-site | CPA Required | Civil Engineering A leading professional services firm is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join its corporate Finance and Accounting team based in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate is passionate, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a deep understanding of financial reporting, U.S. GAAP, and cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and provide actionable insights to support executive decision-making. Apply accounting principles to prepare, reconcile, and maintain accurate financial records and reports. Conduct technical research to ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP. Partner with cross-functional teams to review expenses and forecast annual operating costs. Contribute to the annual business planning process, including capital and operational budgets. Lead the year-end financial review and prepare external financial statements, cash flow statements, and consolidation entries. Support the implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory changes. Participate in various ad hoc financial projects and special initiatives as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA certification required Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in financial reporting or accounting (public accounting experience preferred) Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting Advanced Excel skills and comfort with large data sets Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Professional demeanor with the ability to engage across all organizational levels Team-oriented with the ability to also work independently in a fast-paced environment Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
