Job Description

Senior Revenue Accountant ASC 606 Application | SaaS Industry | CPA Preferred We are partnering with a Raleigh based SaaS company who is looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Revenue Senior Accountant to join their close-knit team! This individual will support the order-to-cash process serving as a technical accounting expert working closely with Sales, Revenue Operations, FP&A, Legal, and Audit, focusing on the application of ASC 606. The ideal candidate will have technical accounting experience with a SaaS revenue model, whether from industry, public accounting, or a combination of both.

Job Responsibilities:

Review complex customer contracts for ASC 606 considerations and assess operational impact Research revenue accounting standards and document positions on specific technical accounting topics Address external audit questions related to revenue, and communicate policy positions to external auditors. Educate and train junior staff on audit goals and requirements Perform monthly accounting close activities and deliverables for revenue and related areas, including performance of revenue review controls, creation and issuance of customer invoices, preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analyses, and related reporting and disclosures Assist in the design and implementation of internal controls over revenue reporting Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve and streamline processes Participate in the design and user acceptance testing for ERP and CPQ system enhancements

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field 3-4 years of relevant experience in public accounting or a SaaS company Strong understanding of ASC 606 with practical experience in its application, including SSP studies, fair value-based revenue recognition, contract combination/modifications, and variable consideration CPA preferred Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience supporting SEC reporting, including assistance with drafting footnote disclosures Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills Experience reviewing the work of junior team members and providing mentorship on professional development and technical accounting principles.
