Job Description
The Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring general ledger accuracy, managing accounts receivable and accounts payable, and preparing and/or reviewing company financial documents. A key member of the Finance team, the Staff Accountant will have a strong understanding of accounting practices, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting:
reviews and processes all day-to-day accounting transactions for the company, including accounts payable and receivable.
Transaction Reconciliation :
reconciles bank statements and credit card transactions company-wide to ensure accurate, timely payments and compliance with policy.
Financial Support:
supports preparation of financial statements and reporting.
Specific Responsibilities:
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely manner. Perform general ledger account reconciliations, including bank and credit card reconciliations. Manage the Company’s expense reimbursement process and ensure compliance with relevant policies. Complete payroll entries and reconciliation. Assist in the month-end invoicing process Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and adjustments. Assist with audits, providing necessary documentation and support to external auditors. Maintains accurate records and ensures documentation to support financial transactions Prepares tax and other regulatory filings, as needed Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth financial operations. Performs other tasks as assigned by management
Key Qualifications:
Proven experience (3+ years) in accounting required Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required Proficiency in accounting software; experience working with NetSuite is strongly preferred Demonstrated expertise in excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
