If you’re a skilled accountant and enjoy solving complex problems, Robert Half is currently looking for a talented Staff Accountant to join a growing distribution company in Raleigh. The ideal candidate will have a bachelors in accounting or finance, and 1+ years experience. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. - Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
- Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
- In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
- Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
- Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
- Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
- Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
- Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
- Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
- Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
- Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
- Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
