POSITION OVERVIEW
The Inventory Accountant will provide support to the store and warehouse network by analyzing inventory data, managing inventory databases, and making necessary adjustments as needed. This Inventory Accountant role participates in the month-end close process, ensuring compliance with all internal controls, as well as ad hoc reporting and special projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE INVENTORY ACCOUNTANT
Participates in the financial month-end close process.
Prepares related month-end reconciliations.
Monitors and understands all inventory transactions and ensures transactions are executed properly and accurately.
Supports all stores with solutions to their merchandise transfer and receiving questions.
Monitors and corrects systemic entries.
Process occasional bills of lading on a timely basis.
Processes physical inventory adjustments where indicated.
Supports routine reporting and data entry for the Inventory Control department.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS FOR THE INVENTORY ACCOUNTANT
4+ years of accounting/finance experience.
Financial Systems experience (Infinium, Cognos, etc.).
Experience working in a Warehouse Management System.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS FOR THE INVENTORY ACCOUNTANT
Oracle or other ERP system experience.
Experience with a retail industry or inventory account focus.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience is required.
