57051 Job Description Parker Hannifin – Precision Fluidics Division is seeking a Division Accountant who will report to the Division Accounting Supervisor and will play an important role within the Precision Fluidics Finance organization. The Division Accountant will work closely with other functions and leaders within Parker Hannifin, as well as external suppliers. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong analytical thinking and communications skills, attention to detail and excellent teamwork abilities. This position will be mainly responsible for the accuracy, integrity, control and timeliness of transactions, systems and processes related to A/P and Payroll. The responsibility requires a close working relationship with all departments within the plants to accomplish objectives in the accounting department. The position also works closely with the Group Accounting department and Corporate Accounting department to maintain corporate and divisional policies and practices.
Essential Functions and Learning Opportunities:
Perform all tasks related to paying suppliers in an accurate and timely manner (invoice management/processing, payment processing, discrepancy resolution, vendor communication, etc.)
Prepare requests related to payment terms and new supplier setups
Process weekly payroll for the division and maintain timekeeping system
Process various wage adjustment requests (i.e sales bonuses, PTO payouts, etc.)
Audit purchase orders for accuracy and taxability (sales/use)
Prepare month, quarter and year end close journal entries, reconciliations, reports and analyses related to payables and payroll
Provide support to Finance leadership for reports and analysis in support of Division, Group and Corporate reviews, audits, and ad hoc requirements
Participate in the development, implementation and support of Lean in Manufacturing and Finance
Participate in continuous improvement activities and provide suggestions Participate in control activities such as SOX testing or audits
Maintain control environment and ensure compliance with government and corporate objectives and systems for accounting
Perform additional duties and special projects as necessary Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
1-2 years experience with general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and/or cost accounting
Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through degree or more years of related experience Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports
Proficient in spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Excel), general use of intranet/internet communications and standard business software.
Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with internal and external customers.
Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team member
Must be a US Citizen or have US Permanent Resident Status
