Human Resource/Payroll and Accounting Associate Formica Freitag Bakery Pleasantville, NJ 08232 Job summary This role is responsible for accurate and timely processing of employee paychecks, managing payroll records and ensuring compliance with tax and legal regulations. Additionally, this role performs accounting tasks which require critical thinking and discretion in carrying out established accounting processes and procedures set forth by the Controller. Essential Functions Sets up new employees in the company’s payroll and timekeeping systems, handles employee pay, position and status changes updates, plus updates other pertinent employee information in our payroll system. Responds to employees’ inquiries regarding their paychecks, including any questions on possible deductions, accruals and other payroll-related information they may require. Talent Acquisition for recruiting, screening, interviewing, onboarding positions and performance management. Understanding compliance with relevant HR laws and maintaining accurate employee records. Administer health care, safety, worker’s compensation and savings plan company records. Submits contributions amounts to carrier partners and garnishments. Prepares payroll summaries, ERP software reports and other general financial accounting deliverables. Required or Preferred Skills and Abilities Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of team members is required. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Critical and Analytical thinking skills and problems solving to be able to make reasonable determinations and conclusions based on data and best payroll and accounting practices. Familiarity with accounting principles. Ability to utilize computerized accounting, timekeeping, HRIS and payroll systems. Ability to research new regulations, laws and processes. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or closely related discipline is required. Experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook and Word is required. Experience working in an office or a professional work setting is required. Experience working in a Human Resource and interacting with Employees.
