Accountant, Construction Company Tudelu Holdings LLC Little Ferry, NJ 07643 Job Overview Tudelu is a growing and dynamic construction company seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. We specialize in custom design for canopies and retractable walls, e.g., commercial general contracting, residential custom builds, infrastructure projects and are committed to delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. The Accountant will play a crucial role in managing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This position requires a strong understanding of construction accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accurate coding and timely payments/collections. Oversee job costing and project profitability analysis, tracking actual costs against budgets. Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts. Prepare and file sales and use tax returns, and assist with other tax-related compliance. Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities. Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting related to ongoing projects. Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and accounting regulations. Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5 specifically in the construction industry. Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and construction accounting methods (e.g., percentage-of-completion). Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, , Viewpoint, Spectrum) and Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred). Experience with job costing, lien waivers, and progress AIA billing is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA. Experience with construction accounting softwares ex. procore. Knowledge of local, state, and federal tax regulations relevant to the construction industry (NY and NJ).
