Inventory & Cost Focus Overview:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to support our inventory and cost accounting operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records related to inventory, supporting month-end close activities, and delivering insights that help drive operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily and monthly inventory accounting tasks, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Manage cost accounting functions for the plant, including tracking and analyzing material, labor, and overhead costs. Prepare and review inventory reports, identifying trends and variances. Reconcile inventory-related general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies. Support the monthly and annual financial close process by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations. Monitor and report on raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to ensure data integrity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Assist with accounts payable, receivable, and other general accounting functions as needed. Take on additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
Solid understanding of accounting principles, including GAAP. Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing or product-based environment. Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.). Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. 2+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with financial reporting and internal controls. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access) and accounting software. High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Work Environment & Schedule:
This is a full-time, on-site position based in our manufacturing facility. Standard hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility available. The role involves occasional physical activity, including lifting up to 25 pounds and periods of standing or walking. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 – $38.46/hr.
