This role involves managing all financial records, overseeing transactions, and preparing accurate financial statements to meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions Client Financial Operations :

Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting to ensure timely and accurate processing.

Ledger and Transaction Oversight :

Maintain and reconcile general ledgers, ensuring compliance with established procedures.

Prepare Financial Statements :

Compile and review financial statements to support tax filings and client planning.

Bookkeeping Functions :

Demonstrate a strong understanding of the chart of accounts and GAAP basis accounting. Prepare and post journal entries for accurate financial records. Reconcile cash, credit cards, and account balances.

Manage accounts receivable:

issue invoices, collect payments, and apply payments correctly. Handle accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments. Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales tax returns. Process payroll accurately, including data entry. Perform month-end closures, ensuring all transactions are recorded and reconciled.

Collaboration :

Work closely with clients to address financial inquiries and provide expert guidance.

Compliance :

Ensure adherence to all applicable financial regulations and standards. Qualifications Education and Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (a Master’s degree in Accounting or an MBA is a plus). Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or an equivalent professional certification is preferred but not necessary Experience 3 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closings. Proven ability to manage complex accounting tasks and oversee junior accounting staff effectively. Industry-specific experience (e.g., manufacturing, real estate, or non-profit) is a plus. Technical Skills Strong understanding of GAAP principles and regulatory compliance requirements. Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools. Familiarity with financial modeling and data analysis tools is an advantage. Analytical and Organizational Skills Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct errors or inconsistencies in financial data. Strong analytical skills to interpret and present complex financial information effectively. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. Communication and Leadership Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for interacting with senior leadership, external auditors, and stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior team members. Collaborative team player with a proven track record of working effectively across departments. Key Competencies Expertise in preparing and analyzing financial statements, forecasts, and budgets. Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies efficiently. Experience preparing for and responding to external audits, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
