Public Staff Tax Accountant Position Available In Warren, New Jersey

Description Our client is seeking an experienced Public Staff Tax Accountant to join their team in Belvidere, New Jersey. This is a contract position that requires a strong background in public accounting and tax preparation. The role is fully onsite, offering an excellent opportunity for professionals with expertise in individual tax filings and state-specific regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review individual tax returns with accuracy and compliance to regulatory standards.
• Filing for 1041 and Inheritance Tax Forms
• Utilize accounting software, including Excel and Drake, to manage financial data effectively.
• Ensure adherence to New Jersey state tax laws and regulations in all filings.
• Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines during peak tax seasons.
• Conduct audits and reconcile financial statements to identify discrepancies.
• Provide expert guidance on entity formation and compliance matters.
• Support clients with tax planning strategies to optimize financial outcomes.
• Maintain organized and detailed records of tax filings and client documents.
• Stay updated on changes to tax laws and accounting practices. Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in public accounting and tax preparation.
• Proficiency in individual tax filings and familiarity with New Jersey state tax regulations.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software systems, particularly Excel; experience with Drake Tax Software is preferred but not required.
