Job Description
Full-time (1.0 FTE), 8 hour day, 12 month position
Posts and maintains district accounting records, including capital projects and Federal and State grants.
Prepares entries necessary to close accounts at the end of the school year.
Prepares financial and statistical reports from accounting records.
Prepares state reports.
Records and posts summary accounting records on a personal computer.
Keeps records of receipts and expenditures and allocates receipts to proper funds.
Assists with preparation of cash flow records.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
This is a competitive Civil Service position. The selected candidate must be among the top three of the Accountant (School) Civil Service Certificate of Eligibles List, after taking the required exam, if not currently holding the title.
Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related filed, including or supplemented by 24 semester credit hours in accounting OR
Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two-year college or university with an Associate Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field, including or supplemented by 18 semester credit hours in accounting AND two (2) years of experience in professional accounting or financial auditing; OR
An equivalent combination of training and experience, as defined by the limits of A) and B) above.
