Junior Accountant Position Available In Dutchess, New York

Kirshon & Company, P.C. , an established and growing public accounting firm, is seeking a Junior Accountant to join our new Rhinebeck office . This is the perfect opportunity for someone with a 2-year degree in accounting (or equivalent) and a passion for learning. You’ll work closely with our Managing Partner and senior-level team members, gaining hands-on experience and continuous mentorship in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing tax returns for high-net-worth clients, fiduciaries, and small businesses. Maintain and reconcile client records, especially investment accounts. Provide bill-paying services for clients with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Communicate directly with clients and government tax agencies to resolve issues and ensure timely responses. Provide organizational support to senior managers across various accounting tasks. Perform administrative tasks as needed to support the team’s operations.

What We’re Looking For:

A strong desire to learn and grow within the accounting field. Meticulous attention to detail and excellent analytical abilities. Familiarity with accounting software, especially QuickBooks, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (knowledge of Word and Outlook is a plus). Strong communication skills to interact with clients and tax agencies in a professional manner. Organizational abilities and the capacity to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. A professional appearance and a strong work ethic. Ability to travel between our Rhinebeck and Poughkeepsie offices as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
