Staff Accountant Position Available In Erie, New York

Description Job Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented detail oriented with a strong background in financial reporting and accounting practices. Requirements Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies. Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions as needed. Reconcile bank accounts and ensure accuracy in transactional data. Support external and internal audits by providing requested documentation and analysis. Maintain accurate records for fixed assets and associated depreciation schedules. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities. Stay updated on accounting regulations and trends to ensure best practices.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CPA eligibility is a plus.

Experience:

2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in general ledger accounting or financial reporting.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in ERP software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Familiarity with financial reporting tools is preferred.

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. Knowledge of GAAP and relevant compliance standards.
