Staff Accountant Position Available In Erie, New York

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Buffalo, New York. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform detailed bank reconciliations to ensure financial records align with bank statements.
• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and properly categorized.
• Prepare and post journal entries to support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports by gathering and analyzing data.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
• Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP to manage financial operations effectively.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial transactions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve accounting processes and ensure compliance with regulations. Requirements
• Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable operations.
• Proficiency in conducting bank reconciliations and maintaining general ledger accounts.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries and month-end closing procedures.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
