You’ll be responsible for performing complex professional accounting work, including the maintenance and analysis of financial records, preparation of financial reports, and ensuring compliance with all relevant governmental accounting standards. What You Will Be Doing
Oversee financial data for grants and special revenue funds, ensuring adherence to fund accounting standards.
Reconcile complex financial records-including ledgers and bank statements-to maintain accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP and GASB guidelines.
Support the development of the CAFR and other external financial documentation.
Record a variety of financial transactions through journal entries, including accruals and reclassifications.
Coordinate with auditors by supplying key reports and documentation during audits.
Monitor and evaluate new GASB standards to determine organizational impact.
What You Need for this Position
3+ years of accounting experience
Experience in the government or public sector
In-depth experience with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) principles and pronouncement
Experience with governmental financial management or ERP systems (SAP, Tyler Munis, Infor Lawson, Oracle, etc.)
GAAP
BS in Accounting, Finance, or similar
