Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to support our organization’s day-to-day financial operations. This role is vital to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and will contribute directly to our mission-driven work. Key responsibilities include month-end reconciliations, payroll processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. What Your Role Will Do:
Perform month-end bank and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Assist with payroll processing and maintain accurate payroll records using ADP Workforce Now. Support accounts payable by ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments and tracking outstanding liabilities. Assist with accounts receivable, including monitoring incoming payments and reconciling donor or grant income. Conduct regular bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are promptly resolved. Collaborate with the finance team to support annual audits and maintain compliance with relevant regulations. Contribute to financial reporting, budget tracking, and other accounting-related tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field — or equivalent relevant experience. Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit environment. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., FundEZ) and payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now is a plus. Solid understanding of standard accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Westbury, NY (Nassau County)
Work Hours/Schedule:
Part-time, daytime hours. Monday – Friday, 24 hours per week. Flexible scheduling options available
Pay:
$29 – $30/hour
