Staff Accountant Position Available In Nassau, New York

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Plainview, New York. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring seamless accounting operations. If you have a strong background in general ledger management and month-end closing processes, this opportunity is ideal for you.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed and accurate monthly journal entries to maintain financial integrity.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct thorough account analysis to support financial reporting and decision-making.
• Assist in executing month-end close processes to meet deadlines.
• Maintain and update general ledger accounts in accordance with company policies.
• Collaborate with team members to improve accounting procedures and efficiency.
• Generate financial reports and statements as required by management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations. Requirements
• Proven experience in bank reconciliations and general ledger management.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting account analyses.
• Familiarity with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of accounting standards and best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
