Staff Accountant Position Available In Nassau, New York

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Mineola, New York. This Contract to permanent position is ideal for a candidate with strong accounting skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role involves handling key financial tasks such as general ledger management, journal entries, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper reconciliation of accounts.
• Handle month-end close processes to meet reporting deadlines.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable operations.
• Generate and analyze financial reports to support organizational decision-making.
• Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP for daily tasks.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Proficiency in general ledger management and journal entries.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.
• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with complex spreadsheets.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
