We are currently seeking a full-time Tax Accountant to join our Mineola, NY office. The Tax Accountant will play a key role in delivering high-quality tax and accounting services. This includes preparing individual and business tax returns, conducting client interviews, and providing guidance on a variety of tax matters. The expected base salary range for this position is $60,000 – $80,000. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Conduct client interviews to understand their financial circumstances and gather necessary documentation.
Review client-provided financial data for completeness and accuracy.
Prepare tax returns and provide accounting services for individuals and small businesses.
Respond to client inquiries and research tax-related issues as needed.
Identify opportunities to assist clients by leveraging the full suite of services offered by the firm.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
Minimum of three years’ experience in preparing individual and business tax returns.
Direct experience working with clients and the ability to explain tax and accounting concepts clearly.
At least one year of experience using UltraTax software; experience with business returns is a plus.
Familiarity with preparing sales and payroll tax filings.
Positive attitude with a team-oriented and professional approach.
Strong attention to detail and ability to make accurate, rules-based decisions.
Highly organized and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
