Chaves Perlowitz Luftig LLP is a premier real estate law firm located in downtown Manhattan. We specialize in high-end residential and commercial real estate transactions, trust & estates, and private client services. We’re seeking a sharp, motivated Accountant with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 2 years plus accounting experience to gain hands-on exposure in legal and financial operations and grow with a high-performing team. What You’ll Do You’ll work closely with our attorneys, paralegals, and accounting staff to support day-to-day financial operations, including:

• Perform biweekly payroll processing and ensure accuracy of employee pay and withholdings
• Help track and administer employee benefits , including insurance enrollments and 401(k) contributions
• Manage and update accounts receivable , accounts payable , and operating accounts
• Support IOLA (Interest on Lawyer Account) and escrow account tracking and compliance
• Post journal entries and help maintain accurate financial records in accordance with legal accounting standards
• Reconcile transactions across IOLA, operating, and trust accounts
• Prepare internal financial statements and month-end and year-end closings
• Update and maintain accounting data in QuickBooks , Airtable , and Excel
• Generate recurring reports to support decision-making and compliance
• Provide support for ad-hoc accounting projects and audits as needed What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks , Microsoft Excel , and Airtable
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Analytical mindset with a strong sense of accountability
• Eagerness to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude
