Job Description

Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in New York, NY on a Contract to permanent basis. This role is ideal for an experienced and detail-oriented individual with extensive expertise in accrual-based accounting, month-end close processes, and financial reconciliations within a large multi-site environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and optimizing operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and execute month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and reviewing financial statements.
  • Monitor and manage twice-weekly cash disbursements to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Coordinate and maintain data integrations between Sage Intacct and supporting platforms, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes while adhering to internal policies and established procedures.
  • Supervise the Accounts Payable Clerk, offering guidance and ensuring efficient operations within the AP function.
  • Prepare detailed monthly ledger account reconciliations and supporting workpapers.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate credit card accounting processes, including reconciliation and payment tracking.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless financial operations and reporting.
  • Maintain and document standard operating procedures for accounting processes to enhance organizational efficiency. Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accrual-based accounting and multi-site environments.
  • Proficiency in Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.
  • Expertise in month-end close processes and account reconciliations.
  • Strong skills in bank and corporate credit card reconciliations.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including complex spreadsheet functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cash disbursements and oversee financial data integrations.
  • Experience supervising accounting staff and ensuring team performance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
