This individual will assist with a ~4-6 month project for a system conversion and will also assist with month-end close. This position is on-site in East Syracuse and will have hybrid flexibility after the initial ramp-up period. The team is looking for this individual to start as soon as possible!

Responsibilities:

Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on medical billing processes, insurance payor contracts, and EMR systems. Support the month-end close process by posting revenue, insurance contractual allowances, and bad debt entries. Collaborate cross-functionally with Revenue Cycle Management, FP&A, and Operations to ensure accurate financial reporting. Provide accounting and financial insight to support a system conversion project. Analyze financial data and variances to support decision-making and process improvements. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and healthcare industry regulations.

Qualifications:

5+ years of accounting experience in a healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of medical billing, insurance reimbursement structures, and payor contract terms. Experience with EMR systems. Prior involvement in system implementations or conversions is a plus. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
