Cambria County Children and Youth Services is looking for a motivated Accountant 1 to complete our team. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this entry level fiscal position, your duties will include assisting in the preparation of the state budget for Children and Youth Probation expenditures and revenues, the county budget, and all related financial and revenue reports required by the County Commissioner’s and County Controller. In addition, this position posts all placement invoices, prepares and submits Federal IV-E invoices, and assists in preparing general ledger reports. You will have the opportunity to assist in preparing the fiscal forms for the agency’s annual plan prepared for the Department of Public Welfare. This position determines Title IV-E eligibility status for Juvenile Probation clients and maintains Title IV-E spreadsheets for Children & Youth Services and Juvenile Probation.
Additional duties to include but not limited to:
Assisting in preparing journal entries and budget modifications
Conducting an internal audit of petty cash funds
Analyzing reports from the County’s Eden Account System
Training fiscal technicians
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or
Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting; or
One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Cambria County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cambria County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
