The Sr Cost Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the cost accounting functions, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting. This role aims to provide accurate financial information to support strategic decision-making and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze cost reports to identify trends and variances.
Conduct financial forecasting and budgeting activities to support operational objectives.
Perform variance analysis to assess differences between budgeted and actual results.
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger for cost accounting activities.
Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to streamline financial processes.
Collaborate with management to develop and implement cost control measures.
Support inventory management by analyzing inventory costs and performance.
Conduct financial analysis to provide insights into business performance.
Assist in the audit process ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
Prepare management reports that summarize financial metrics and key performance indicators.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in cost accounting or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software, preferably SAP or PLEX.
Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis.
Experience with ERP systems.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
