We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our manufacturing team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing costs, preparing budgets, and providing insights to enhance profitability and efficiency in our operations. The Senior Cost Accountant will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP guidelines, while also supporting strategic decision-making through detailed financial analysis and reporting. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze cost reports to identify trends and variances.
Manage inventory valuation and perform inventory analysis to ensure accurate reporting.
Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted costs, providing insights and recommendations.
Utilize ERP systems to streamline costing processes and improve data accuracy.
Support the budgeting process by providing detailed cost forecasts.
Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations related to cost accounting.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and auditing standards.
Conduct financial analysis to support manufacturing initiatives and projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cost efficiencies and profitability.
Prepare financial reports related to costing, inventory, and profitability metrics.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably Epicore.
Excellent analytical skills with a focus on financial analysis and forecasting.
Experience in budgeting and variance analysis.
Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets and financial models.
Strong understanding of inventory management and costing methodologies.
Experience with internal controls and auditing processes.
