Staff Accountant Position Available In Jefferson, Pennsylvania

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Sykesville, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will contribute to key financial operations, including general accounting, financial reporting, and compliance. This is a long-term contract position with opportunities to work on government contracting projects and utilize advanced accounting software.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare and review journal entries for month-end close processes.
• Analyze profit and loss statements and provide actionable insights for financial performance.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently.
• Conduct bank reconciliations to verify financial transactions and balances.
• Collaborate on government contracting projects by ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines.
• Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP to streamline financial tasks.
• Create presentations to communicate financial data and findings effectively.
• Support internal audits and ensure compliance with financial policies.
• Assist in preparing reports for senior management and stakeholders. Requirements
• Proven experience in accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting month-end close activities.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting profit and loss statements.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.
• Ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Knowledge of government contracting regulations and practices.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting financial data and collaborating with teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
