Job Summary:
The General Accountant is responsible for managing daily accounting functions, maintaining financial records, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role supports month-end and year-end close processes, reconciles accounts, and assists with audits and compliance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries, maintain general ledger, and perform account reconciliations. Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures. Review and analyze financial statements and reports for accuracy and completeness. Reconcile bank and credit card statements. Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation. Prepare and file sales/use tax and other regulatory filings as needed. Support budgeting and forecasting efforts. Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations. Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of general accounting experience. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle). Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. High attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical thinking.
