Description A real estate investment firm is seeking a Property Accountant to join their growing accounting and finance team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in general ledger accounting, property financial reporting, and CAM reconciliations. The Property Accountant will oversee a portfolio of commercial real estate properties and handle day-to-day accounting functions including journal entries, variance analysis, and monthly reporting. You’ll collaborate closely with the asset management and property operations teams to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all accounting functions for a portfolio of commercial or multifamily properties
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Complete month-end close tasks including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Perform CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and tenant billings
Analyze budget-to-actual variances and explain key fluctuations
Support year-end audit requests and tax package preparation
Collaborate cross-functionally with asset management and property operations teams
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
Ensure accurate recording of capital expenditures, fixed assets, and depreciation
Work within Yardi (or similar) property management/accounting software
