Sr. Accountant Position Available In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Description We are seeking a Senior Accountant with healthcare industry experience to support financial close processes, advanced Excel-based analysis, and accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Prepare and review reconciliations (e.g., cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and inventory). Ensure financial statements and balance sheets are accurate and comply with organizational and regulatory standards.

Healthcare-Focused Accounting:

Manage accounting functions tied to healthcare revenue recognition, payer contracts, and cost structures. Ensure compliance with healthcare-specific accounting standards and regulations, such as HIPAA.

Advanced Excel-Based Analysis:

Utilize advanced Excel skills to create and maintain complex models (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, nested formulas, data visualization, and charts). Automate processes, identify financial trends, prepare reconciliations, and deliver ad hoc reports.

Financial Reporting and Auditing:

Assist in the preparation of reports, including P& L analysis, forecasting, and variance reports. Provide audit support and compile documentation related to healthcare-specific financial requirements.

Process Improvement Initiatives:

Recommend and implement enhancements to financial close and reporting workflows. Leverage ERP systems and Excel automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA designation preferred but not required.

Experience:

5+ years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in healthcare accounting. Familiarity with ERP systems (healthcare ERP systems or practice management software preferred).

Technical Skills:

Strong proficiency in advanced Excel (macros, formulas, pivot tables, data visualization, and automation). Understanding of healthcare accounting frameworks and practices relevant to the industry.

Soft Skills:

Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across departments.
