Description Robert Half is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.   • Manage accounts receivable processes, including tracking scheduled funding and grant payments.
  • Prepare and issue invoices in alignment with grant disbursement schedules.
  • Perform bank deposits and reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with team members to support the implementation of a cloud-based accounting system.
  • Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate journal entries.
  • Assist in month-end close activities, ensuring financial statements are prepared on time.
  • Work closely with other departments to resolve discrepancies and streamline accounting operations.
  • Utilize accounting software, including Blackbaud and QuickBooks, to maintain financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with local government funding requirements and reporting standards.

Requirements The Ideal Staff Accountant will meet the following

Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
  • Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and general ledger management.
  • Proficiency in journal entries and month-end close processes.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Blackbaud.
  • Ability to work effectively on-site four days a week with some flexibility.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of grant-based funding and scheduled disbursements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-focused environment.
